Daily Five

This is the first year that I've attempted to incorporate the Daily Five into my Kindergarten class. Boy howdy......does it ever take some patience on your part!! lol   It probably doesn't help that I have 29 students in my class either!  Well today we finally made it up to a solid three minutes of Read to Self. (It's day 12) I've also been slowly introducing some CAFE strategies.  We did "Check for Understanding" earlier this week and I really played up the part of "Check-in Charlie" and how he will stop you occasionally because he needs you to check in with him. They loved their bookmarks and can easily recall this strategy!
